'The Seduction of Delhi', a collection of poems by diplomat-author Abhay K, was launched this week at the Jaipur Literature Festival here. The book was launched by noted Indian poet Arvind Krishna Mehrotra.
Earlier in the day, Mehrotra addressed the gathering on poetic imagination along with Pulitzer Prize winning poet Vijay Seshadri.
The Seduction of Delhi is the fifth collection of poems by Abhay K who has been honoured with the SAARC Literary Award and nominated for the Pushcart Prize earlier. The poems in his latest collection not only pay homage to historical personalities and cities of Delhi but also to present inhabitants of Delhi.
The book has been illustrated beautifully by Italian artist Tarshito and has been reviewed by Indian poet Jayanta Mahapatra, T.S. Eliot Prize winning poet George Szirtes and American poet Dorianne Laux.
