World number one Novak Djokovic and Spanish maestro Rafael Nadal produced contrasting performances to advance to the quarterfinals of the Indian Wells Masters on Thursday.
The Serbian defending champion defeated Spanish rival Feliciano Lopez 6-3, 6-3 in the fourth round, while Nadal overcame a gutsy challenge from German teenager Alexander Zverev in a three-set thriller to set up a quarterfinal clash against Kei Nishikori, Sport24 reported.
Djokovic and Nadal will face each other in a mouth-watering semifinal clash if they are able to beat their respective opponents in the quarterfinals.
Meanwhile, French Open champion Stan Wawrinka was sent crashing out of Indian Wells in the fourth round by David Goffin.
