External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj arrived here on Tuesday to participate in the BRICS and SAARC ministerial meets.
The External Affairs Minister will also be addressing a United Nations session during her visit.
MEA official spokesperson confirmed news of the minister's visit and her plans to address the UN on Twitter.
"We're not done here yet. Even as PM @narendramodi flies home, EAM @SushmaSwaraj arrives in NY for address to @UN," Swarup tweeted.
Last week, Swaraj co-chaired the India-US Strategic and Commercial Dialogue on economic growth in New York. She held productive discussions with top business leaders of American industry and pushed for investing in India.
BRICS is an association of five major developing economies, comprising Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa, that represents almost three billion people and some 20 percent of the global GDP.
