EC asks W.Bengal Govt. to arrest Malda miscreants

The Election Commission (EC) on Friday asked the West Bengal Government to immediately arrest all those involved in the Malda assault on its officials yesterday.

Reports suggest that the EC has asked the Director General of Police (DGP) in West Bengal G M P Rajasekhar Reddy, to file a compliance report by 5 p.m today.

On Thursday, two Election Commission personnel in Malda's Manik Chak were attacked while taking video footage of a Trinamool Congress bike rally. Election Commission rules do not allow bike rallies as part of campaigning.
