As Prime Minister Narendra Modi interacted with the 'Nari Shakti Puraskar' awardees, Rashmi Urdhwardeshe, an automotive research and development professional from Pune, said that education to girls will bring significant change in society.

"If we focus on our daughters, then the change in society will be significant. I congratulate Prime Minister for the initiative taken by him on this," Urdhwardeshe told ANI.

President Ram Nath Kovind on Sunday presented Nari Shakti Puraskar on the occasion of International Women's Day at a function held at Rashtrapati Bhavan Cultural Centre (RBCC).

The Nari Shakti Puraskar, instituted by the Ministry of Women and Child Development, is a National Award in recognition of exceptional work for women empowerment conferred every year on March 8 as a mark of respect and recognition for those who contribute towards the empowerment of women.
