Eight aspiring engineers drown, die

As per the initial information, the dead students were from Maratha Engineering College in Belgaum (Karnataka). They were part of a 50 students' team which is touring Maharashtra.

According to the police, the students ignored warning of strong current by the locals and ventured into the sea, which proved fatal. Further details are awaited.
