'Everest' earns USD 28M in opening weekend

Baltasar Kormakur's directorial 'Everest' seems to be doing well at the box office, as it has collected 28.8 million dollars in its opening weekend.

Interestingly, the Jake Gyllenhaal starrer got a strong opening in India and has earned 1.4 million dollars after only 450 runs, reports Deadline.com.

Meanwhile, 'Maze Runner: Scorch Trials' grabbed 43.2 million dollars over the weekend and has earned a total of 78 million dollars at the box office.
