Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh met top officials on Sunday in order to ensure that all assistance is given to the people affected by the earthquake.
"I had a meeting with the officials to ensure that all help and support is given to people affected," Singh said.
The Union Home Minister also thanked Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav for their assistance.
"I thank Chief Ministers of U.P and Bihar who immediately agreed for bus service so that tourists and people stranded in Nepal can be brought back," he said.
"We have already sent our NDRF teams, Prime Minister Modi has himself talked to Nepal's President and Prime Minister," he added.

Following fresh earthquake in Nepal earlier in the day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has called for a high-level meeting today to review the situation and take stock of the relief work.
"Today at 3:30 PM the Prime Minister has called a high level meeting to review the situation arising due to the Earthquake," the Prime Minister's Office tweeted.
"The review meeting called by the PM at 3:30pm will be looking at the relief work and other issues arising due to the Earthquake," it added.
Fresh tremors were felt across Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal and Assam earlier in the day after an earthquake of 6.7 magnitude hit the east of Kathmandu.
