Information and Broadcasting Minister Prakash Javadekar has said that his ministry will work to popularize Doordarshan and All India Radio-in line with other popular private channels.
Addressing a press conference here yesterday, Javadekar said his aim was to make Doordarshan and state-run All India Radio first choice of viewers.
"We are going to make broadcast of Doordarshan mandatory on every DTH (direct to home) and cable network," he added.
He further said that suggestions from the public in this regard will be considered.
