A candle light vigil demanding justice for the youth who was brutally killed in North 24 Parganas district of West Bengal was held here today.
People who congregated paid tributes in memory of deceased student Sourav Chowdhury and staged a silent protest whose birthday coincided today.
Soumen Kumar Saha, organiser of the candle march protest said, "Today we are here in memory of saurabh. It's a silent protest."
Twenty-year-old Sourav Choudhury was reportedly abducted by some assailants on the night of July 5 and later hacked to death.
Sourav was killed for starting a drive against hooch dens in the area allegedly run by the main accused.
Meanwhile, the main accused in this case was on Wednesday reportedly arrested from Rampurhat in Birbhum district.
