Justice Tinlianthang Vaiphei of Gauhati High Court was sworn in as acting chief justice of Tripura High Court in a ceremony at Raj Bhawan here on Monday.
Tripura Governor Tathagata Roy administered the oath of office during a swearing-in-ceremony programme held at the Durbar Hall of Raj Bhavan here.
Chief Minister Manik Sarkar along some of his cabinet colleagues, other justices of the High Court, top administrative and security officials of the state government were present in the swearing-in-ceremony.
It may be recalled here that the first chief justice of the High Court of Tripura, Deepak Kumar Gupta left the state on May 12 last and is supposed to take charge today as chief justice of the Chhattisgarh High Court.
