Sri Lanka's opposition United National Party leader Ranil Wickremeisnghe has said that the country cannot overcome lawlessness until a well-organised struggle by parties is arranged to overthrow what he called the dictatorial government of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
According to sources, his remarks came during a meeting with members of the organization for Good Governance at his office.
He said if the government had to be overthrown, then they would have to begin from scratch, reports the Daily Mirror.
He further added that democracy no longer existed, and therefore, it was essential for them to bring an end to this Rajapaksa dictatorial regime.
