Lankan President arrives in Tirupati for pilgrimage

Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa has arrived at the temple city on a two-day pilgrimage starting today amidst tight security.

The visiting Sri Lankan dignitary was given a guard of honour on his arrival here.

The temple town has been fortified reportedly in view of the likely protests by Tamil Nadu based activists and political parties who are against Rajapaksa's visit.
