A handwritten letter by Lewis Carroll, where he complains about the downside of fame is going to be sold at Bonham's auction house.
The author of 'Alice in Wonderland' had penned the letter under his own name, Charles Dodgson, and said that he hates "being pointed out to, and stared at, by strangers, and treated as a 'lion'", the BBC reported.
The author, who had addressed the letter to his friend Anne Symonds, also said that he hate it so intensely that sometimes he wishes he had never written any books at all.
The 1891 letter, which will be auctioned on March19, is expected to fetch between 3000 pounds and 4000 pounds and is part of a Books, Manuscripts, Maps and Photographs sale.
A photograph taken by Carroll of a young girl at the seaside and his portrait of a three-year-old girl on a couch are also up for sale.
