Mo Farah relied on 'special hot pants' to make history at Moscow games

Three-time World Champion Mo Farah's success at the Moscow games is being attributed to special hot pants that kept muscles warm between events.

According to The Daily Star, sports scientists at British Athletics have designed the heated shorts to help the nation's stars when they are going for gold.

Last summer, Sir Chris Hoy and Team Great Britain cyclists used their own battery-powered hot pants to keep their muscles warm between events as they reached Olympic success in the Velodrome, the report said.

The clothing performs a job similar to tyre warmers in Formula 1 racing, intended to improve on-track performance, the report added.
