World number two Andy Murray produced a rich vein of form as he swatted aside Croatia's Ivo Karlovic in straight sets to sail into the fourth round of the French Open here at Roland Garros on Friday.

After battling through in his first two rounds in five sets, Murray displayed a much straight-forward victory in the third round of the tournament by recording a 6-1, 6-4, 7-6(7-3) win over his Croatian opponent in one hour and 56 minutes.

Earlier, Murray had shown a perfect fight back in his first two rounds of the second major of the season as he recovered from a two-set deficit, first against Czech Republic's Radek Stepanek and then against French wild card Mathias Bourgue .

The British maestro will now face either American John Isner or Teymuraz Gabashvili of Georgia for a place in the quarter-finals.
