Budweiser has reacted to The Wall Street Journal's recent claim that the brewer planned to put its iconic marketing mascots, Clydesdale horses, out to pasture in an effort to attract younger beer drinkers.

The company took it to its both Facebook and Twitter accounts to say "Don't believe everything that trends. The Budweiser #Clydesdales aren't going anywhere," Adweek.com reported.

The company added that the beer's "ambassadors of excellence" will be part of its 2015 Super Bowl ads and upcoming responsible-drinking campaigns, including one with ride-sharing app Lyft.

Promoted on Twitter, under the title 'Budweiser Gives Epic Lyfts Home,' the campaign features a 30-second video in which partygoers get a horse-drawn escort home.
