The Netherlands and Hong Kong have qualified for the next year's World Twenty20 tournament in Bangladesh with their respective wins over Scotland and Papua New Guinea in the qualifiers.

The Netherlands and Hong Kong will join Afghanistan, Ireland, Nepal and United Arab Emirates (UAE) in Bangladesh in March.

According to the BBC, the Netherlands defeated Scotland by eight wickets, dashing their hopes to qualify for a major tournament since 2009, with the Scots setting their opponents 147 to win their play-off in Abu Dhabi.

The report mentioned that Scotland would play Papua New Guinea in the seventh-place play-off match on Friday.

Hong Kong claimed the sixth and final qualifying place with a 29-run win over Papua New Guinea, the report added.
