Pakistani Taliban newly-appointed chief Mullah Fazlullah, it seems, recently came from Afghanistan amid efforts made by the government to negotiate with the militants.
Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan hinted in the Senate at Fazlullah's arrival in the country, while recalling the efforts made by the PML-N government, after the All-Party Conference two months ago, for bringing the militants to the negotiation table, Dawn News reports.
The statement came hours before the formal announcement of Fazlullah's selection as the new Tehreik-e-Taliban Pakistan chief.
According to the report, the minister's statement indicated that the government was well aware of his presence in Afghanistan, as well as the timing of his arrival in the country.
