Nifty struggles to hit 7850 ahead of expiry

The market is trading in red on September expiry day with midcaps showing marginal outperformance.

Nifty on the other hand slipped 16.55 points, unable to touch the crucial level of 7850.

Market experts believe that the Nifty is expected to hover near 7886 level at the expiry.

Some of the gainers topping the charts are Infosys, Lupin, Maruti, Cipla and Bajaj Auto while ONGC, Coal India, Tata Steel, L&T and Vedanta are major losers in the Sensex.
