Bollywood actor Salman Khan's defence lawyer Shrikant Shivade on Wednesday said that an appeal has been filed in the Bombay High Court, and no restrictions have been placed on the Dabangg star during his interim bail.

"The appeal has already been filed. He has been bailed out. The High Court has put no restrictions on him," said Shivade.

Meanwhile, public prosecutor Niranjan Munarge refused to comment further on the issue and said that it would be best to wait till the High Court takes up the case on Friday.

"Wait for two days. The High Court is looking into the issue. It will not be good on my part to comment. The matter would be considered by court on May 8," Munarge said.

Earlier in the day, a Mumbai Sessions Court found Salman Khan guilty of culpable homicide and sentenced him to five years imprisonment in connection with the 2002 hit-and-run case, where he ran over a homeless person and injured four others.

However, the Bombay High Court granted him a two-day interim bail. The next hearing in the case has been scheduled for May 8.
