A public interest litigation (PIL) that has accused Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi of filing incomplete details in his nomination papers for the 2012 assembly polls, has been dismissed by the Supreme Court.

Chief Justice P. Sathasivam and Justice Ranjan Gogoi said it is a matter that lies within the jurisdiction of the chief election officer of the state.

The PIL was filed by Sunil Sarawgi. He had sought the quashing of the election officer's decision not to reject Modi's nomination paper.
