Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday congratulated Afghanistan for its maiden victory in the ongoing 2015 edition of the Cricket World Cup.
Prime Minister Modi took to twitter to extend his congratulations.
"Congrats Afghanistan for the WC win over Scotland. Am sure this 1st ever WC win is a joyful moment for cricket lovers in Afghanistan!" he posted.
Earlier in the day, Afghanistan won a nail biting match against Scotland to record their first-ever victory in the World Cup, beating Scotland by one wicket with three balls to spare.
