PM Modi stresses on women education on Teachers' Day

Prime Minister Narendra Modi today stressed on need for education of women, in his live interaction with students and teachers across the country on the occasion of Teachers' Day, saying if a girl is educated she further educates two families.

Prime Minister Modi said, "Education of women is very important, if a girl is educated, she educates two families."

Referring to his Independence Day speech, Prime Minister Modi emphasized that his government is also working towards building separate toilets for girls in every school.

Recalling his Japan visit, Prime Minister Modi said that cleanliness is part of character building in Japan which should also be emulated here.

 

Answering the query of a student on what further steps he would take to ensure the education of the girl child, Prime Minister Modi said, "A girl child must get education facilities close to her home. Quality of education is also important.
