President Pranab Mukherjee visited the 'Shakti Sthal' memorial here on Friday to pay tributes to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi on her 30th death anniversary.
Earlier today, Prime Minister Narendra Modi also sent out a message on Indira Gandhi's death anniversary.
"I join my fellow countrymen and women in remembering former PM Smt. Indira Gandhi on her 'Punya Tithi'," tweeted Prime Minister Modi.
Congress president and Indira Gandhi's daughter-in-law Sonia Gandhi and her son Rahul Gandhi were among the first to reach 'Shakti Sthal' to pay a floral tribute this morning.
Indira Gandhi fell to assassins' bullets on this day in 1984 at her 1, Safdarjung Road residence in New Delhi. She was killed by her Sikh bodyguards more than four months after Operation Blue Star, which was launched on the Golden Temple in Amritsar.
