South African coach Russell Domingo has said that he believes there is still hope for the hosts in the deciding third Test against Australia as they still have three sessions left to salvage a draw and the series.

Australia set South Africa 511 to win in the second innings on the fourth day at Newlands, Cape Town, and a draw would be the best result for the hosts.

According to Sport24, however, Domingo expressed optimism as AB de Villiers is unbeaten on 16 from 100 balls and Faf du Plessis and JP Duminy are yet to come, adding that they have managed to get out of holes like that before.

Stating that South Africa will be content with a draw now even though their original intention was to win the Test and the series, Domingo also said that he feels there is still hope if De Villiers scores the slowest 40 in the history of the game, adding that there are still some good batting options for them.

Meanwhile, Australian opener David Warner, fresh off a blistering knock of 145 (156 balls, 13 fours, four sixes), said that his team's bowlers would have to be patient to bowl South Africa out.
