Twitter has become the hub for racial attack with more than 10, 000 racial slurs being used in tweets each day, according to a new study.

While most common of them used terms such as 'white boy', 'paki', 'white boy', 'nigga', 'spic', 'crow', 'squinty' and 'wigga', Think tank Demos, which conducted the research, said the majority of slurs identified in its study were used in a non-offensive manner.

Experts analysed more than 125,000 English language tweets from across the globe over a nine-day period and found that around one in every 15,000 contained language which is normally seen as offensive to ethnic and religious groups, the Metro reported.

Meanwhile, the report revealed that 70 percent of tweets that used racial slurs were not meant to be offensive, as a large number of people used the terms while referring to themselves or members of their own community.
