Sri Lanka's President Mahinda Rajapaksa and his challenger and common opposition candidate, former health minister of government Maithripala Sirisena have officially entered the ring to contest for the country's top post.
President Rajapaksa, MP Sirisena and 17 others, including two independent candidates have handed in their nominations for the 2015 presidential elections to the Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya at the election Secretariat in Rajagiriya, reports the Colombo Page.
