Russian airstrikes in western Syria have targeted the area around the town of Talbiseh, according to residents and a group which monitors the civil war in Syria.
According to The New York Times, it comes a day after Russia promised to step up its air campaign.
Ambulances rushed wounded people to the hospital in Talbiseh, north of the city of Homs. A local resident here said that at least five bodies had been recovered from the western part of the town.
Abdul Ghafar al Dweik, a former government employee and volunteer rescue worker, said that there were seven or six raids in the town.
