Singapore Open: Praneeth stuns Srikanth to lift maiden Super Series title

ANI  |  Singapore [Malaysia]

Ace Indian shuttler B. Sai Praneeth produced a spirited performance as he fended off his fellow countryman Kidambi Srikanth in all-Indian men's singles final to lift his first ever Super Series title at the Open here on Sunday.

After going down in the first game, Praneeth rebounded strongly to register a 17-21, 21-17, 21-12 win over Srikanth in a thrilling summit showdown that lasted 54 minutes.

With the win, Praneeth has become only the second Indian to win a men's singles Super Series title.

Earlier, Praneeth and Srikanth had created history by setting up an all-Indian Super Series men's single final for the first time with dominating semi-final victories at the Open.
