Turkey's President Tayyip Erdogan has said that his country's ambassador to Bangladesh has been withdrawn following the execution of former chief of Jamaat-e-Islami Motiur Rahman Nizami.
Bangladesh on Wednesday hanged Nizami for war crimes committed during the country's 1971 Liberation War which drew flak from International human rights groups.
They say that the procedures of the Bangladeshi tribunal that sentenced Nizami fell short of international standards. In Turkey, there have been a handful of protests against the execution in recent days, reports the Daily Star.
