UK minister calls for ban on humiliating 'fat phrases'

British Liberal Democrat politician for equalities Jo Swinson believes that demeaning 'fat phrases', like muffin tops and thunder thighs, should be banned.
Swinson, 33, said that it is depressingly common-place to hear women, and even young girls, insulting their own bodies, as fat talk and body-shaming easily become a habit and an expectation.
Swinson said that people need to promote positive body image so they can increase healthy behaviours.
Swinson added that poor body confidence can have a devastating effect on many aspects of women's lives, from achieving at school to succeeding in the workplace.
