Union Science and Technology Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Monday described as 'unfortunate' reports that he had sought a ticket for his son to contest the February 7 Delhi Assembly elections.

"Nothing more unfortunate, this news is false. My children are established in their careers, there is no truth in this news," Dr. Harsh Vardhan told ANI.

He also dismissed reports of a discord within the party over the joining of former IPS officer and activist Kiran Bedi.

"There is no crisis in the party," he added.

Reports had earlier said that Dr. Harsh Vardhan was upset with the party for denying his son a BJP ticket in the upcoming Assembly elections in Delhi.

The elections for the 70-member Delhi Assembly will be held in a single phase on February 7, with the counting of votes set to take place on February 10.
