Vyapam scam: Journalist's last rites performed at Nigambodh Ghat

The journalist covering the Vyapam scam who died yesterday under mysterious circumstances in Jhabua, Madhya Pradesh, was cremated at the Nigambodh Ghat here on Sunday.

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and Delhi Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Satish Upadhyay were among those present during the cremation ceremony.

Akshay Singh, a journalist with the TV Today Group, died suddenly yesterday when he had gone to take an interview of the family of a slain Vyapam scam accused in Jhabua district of Madhya Pradesh.

Reports say that Singh felt chest pain while he was taking the interview. He was taken to the Meghnagar hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.
