Australian equity market finished session at two-month high on Thursday, 12 October 2017, on the back of gains across most major sectors. The benchmark S&P/ASX200 climbed 22.36 points, or 0.39%, to 5,794.5 points, while the broader All Ordinaries index rose 23.30 points, or 0.4%, to 5864.1 points. Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Sydney Stock Exchange by 685 to 452 and 381 ended unchanged. The S&P/ASX 200 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of S&P/ASX 200 options, was down 1.98% to 11.207.
