Castorseed Crop Expected To See Spurt Of 50% On Strong Yields

The Solvent Extractors' Association of India (SEA) noted in a latest update that the all India Castor crop has increased by 50% at 20.36 lakh tons compared to 11.27 lakh tons last year. Total area under castor seed cultivation in India for the year 2019-20 is estimated to be 992000 hectares as per the government's estimates against 2018-19 estimate of 769570 hectares, which has increased by 29% compared to the previous year. Average India's castor seed productivity for the year 2019-20 is estimated to be 2052 Kg/Ha as compared to 1407 Kg/Ha last year.
