Consumer goods stocks edge lower

Consumer goods stocks were trading in red, with the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index decreasing 27.74 points or 0.73% at 3752.49 at 13:47 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Consumer Discretionary Goods & Services index, Dish TV India Ltd (down 7.93%), V-Mart Retail Ltd (down 5.46%),Den Networks Ltd (down 4.99%),Shemaroo Entertainment Ltd (down 4.86%),Cox & Kings Ltd (down 4.58%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Amara Raja Batteries Ltd (down 4.39%), Cantabil Retail India Ltd (down 4.36%), Sintex Industries Ltd (down 4.29%), Sun TV Network Ltd (down 3.97%), and Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd (down 3.83%).
On the other hand, S Chand & Company Ltd (up 11.56%), Saregama India Ltd (up 9.42%), and Liberty Shoes Ltd (up 8.28%) turned up.
At 13:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 80.12 or 0.2% at 40245.15.
The Nifty 50 index was up 37.25 points or 0.31% at 11927.85.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 10.97 points or 0.23% at 4708.14.
On BSE,1343 shares were trading in green, 1084 were trading in red and 169 were unchanged.
