Financials stocks slide
Financials stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Finance index decreasing 240.75 points or 5.57% at 4082.78 at 13:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Mahindra & Mahindra Financial Services Ltd (down 16.33%), Cholamandalam Investment & Finance Company Ltd (down 13.4%),LIC Housing Finance Ltd (down 11.84%),Indiabulls Housing Finance Ltd (down 9.45%),Shriram Transport Finance Company Ltd (down 9.23%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Equitas Holdings Ltd (down 8.75%), IndusInd Bank Ltd (down 8.6%), Federal Bank Ltd (down 8.45%), Tourism Finance Corporation of India Ltd (down 7.29%), and Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd (down 7.22%).
On the other hand, Reliance Home Finance Ltd (up 4.24%), AAVAS Financiers Ltd (up 4.16%), and HDFC Asset Management Company Ltd (up 0.28%) turned up.
At 13:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was down 817 or 2.63% at 30280.73.
The Nifty 50 index was down 236.9 points or 2.59% at 8899.95.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 266.35 points or 2.49% at 10422.51.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 114.94 points or 3.03% at 3674.83.
On BSE,512 shares were trading in green, 1659 were trading in red and 142 were unchanged.
