FPIs continue buying

Net inflow of Rs 599.97 crore on 8 January 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 599.97 crore from the secondary equity markets on 8 January 2018, compared with net inflow of Rs 844.02 crore on 5 January 2018. On 8 January 2018, the Sensex had risen 198.94 points or 0.58% to settle at 34,352.79, its record closing high.
The net inflow of Rs 599.97 crore into the secondary equity markets on 8 January 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 5652.13 crore and gross sales of Rs 5052.16 crore.
There was a net outflow of Rs 1.46 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 8 January 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 10.40 crore and gross sales of Rs 11.86 crore.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 3508.70 crore from the secondary equity markets in January 2018 so far (till 8 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 3345.02 crore into the secondary equity markets in December 2017.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 399.58 crore into the primary market & others' category in January 2018 so far (till 8 January 2018). They had sold stocks worth a net Rs 2537.66 crore into the primary market & others' category in December 2017.
