FPIs resume selling

Net outflow of Rs 656.23 crore on 9 May 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 656.23 crore from the secondary equity markets on 9 May 2018, as compared to net inflow of Rs 364.20 crore on 8 May 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 656.23 crore into the secondary equity markets on 9 May 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4048.57 crore and gross sales of Rs 4704.80 crore.
There was a net outflow of Rs 33.65 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 9 May 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 0.18 crore and gross sales of Rs 33.83 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 8853.15 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar 2018 so far (till 9 May 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2017.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 13454.74 crore from the primary market & others' category in calendar 2018 so far (till 9 May 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 41485.09 crore from the primary market & others' category in calendar 2017.
