FPIs step up selling

Net outflow of Rs 1615.60 crore on 4 May 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) sold stocks worth a net Rs 1615.60 crore from the secondary equity markets on 4 May 2018, as compared to net outflow of Rs 81.69 crore on 3 May 2018.
The net outflow of Rs 1615.60 crore from the secondary equity markets on 4 May 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 3428.32 crore and gross sales of Rs 5043.92 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 37.07 crore from the 'primary market & others' category on 4 May 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 38.25 crore and gross sales of Rs 1.18 crore.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 7942.58 crore into the secondary equity markets in calendar 2018 so far (till 4 May 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 9768.38 crore from the secondary equity markets in calendar 2017.
FPIs have bought stocks worth a net Rs 13472.84 crore from the primary market & others' category in calendar 2018 so far (till 4 May 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 41485.09 crore from the primary market & others' category in calendar 2017.
