FPIs turn net buyers

Net inflow of Rs 289.40 crore on 4 April 2018
Foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) bought stocks worth a net Rs 289.40 crore from the secondary equity markets on 4 April 2018, as compared to net outflow of Rs 462.75 crore on 3 April 2018. On 4 April 2018, the Sensex fell 351.56 points or 1.05% to settle at 33,019.07, its lowest closing level since 28 March 2018.
The net inflow of Rs 289.40 crore into the secondary equity markets on 4 April 2018 was a result of gross purchases of Rs 4493.43 crore and gross sales of Rs 4204.03 crore.
There was a net inflow of Rs 2.28 crore into the 'primary market & others' category on 4 April 2018, which was a result of gross purchases of Rs 2.28 crore and nil gross sales.
FPIs have sold stocks worth a net Rs 1902.95 crore from the secondary equity markets in April 2018 so far (till 4 April 2018). They bought stocks worth a net Rs 6685.63 crore from the secondary equity markets last month.
