Government plans market borrowings of Rs 2.68 lakh crore for H2 of 2019-20

Net borrowings stands at Rs 1.33 lakh crore for H2 of 2019-20

The Government has issued its calendar for market borrowings through issuance of G-sec amounting to Rs 2.68 lakh crore for H2 of 2019-20. The net borrowings would be Rs 1.33 lakh crore after redemption of earlier G-sec amounting to Rs 1.35 lakh crore scheduled in the month of January 2020.

There will be 17 weekly auctions of dated securities with the size of Rs 14000-16000 crore.

About 41% or Rs 1.09 lakh crore of the borrowings program for H2 of 2019-20 is concentrated in the 10-14 year bucket. Further, 25% or Rs 68000 crore of borrowings is in 25 years and above bucket, followed by 18% or Rs 48000 crore in 5-9 years bucket. The maturity bucket 15-24 years accounts for 9% or Rs 25000 crore of borrowings and 1-4 years for 7% or Rs 18000 crore for H2 of 2019-20.
