The benchmark S&P/ASX 200 Index advanced 39.10 points, or 0.66%, to 5947.50, while the broader All Ordinaries Index added 40.30 points, or 0.69%, to 5917.60. Market turnover was healthy, with 1.81 billion shares changing hands worth of A$4.54 billion.
