Turnover on NSE's F&O segment declines
The June 2016 futures on the Nifty 50 index traded at 8122.80, a small premium of 13.95 points compared with the Nifty's closing of 8108.85 in the cash market. The Nifty July 2016 futures traded at 8151.50, a modest premium of 42.65 points compared with the spot closing for the index. Turnover on the National Stock Exchange's futures & options (F&O) segment declined to Rs 2.02 lakh crore from turnover of Rs 2.30 lakh crore registered during the previous trading session.
In the cash market, the Nifty lost 1.75 points or 0.02% to settle at 8,108.85, its lowest closing level since 26 May 2016.
State Bank of India (SBI), Tata Motors, Yes Bank, Reliance Infrastructure (RInfra), Tata Steel and Axis Bank were the top traded individual stock futures contracts in F&O segment of NSE. SBI June 2016 futures traded at 208.40, near spot closing of 208.20. Tata Motors June 2016 futures traded at 449.70, near spot closing of 448.70. Yes Bank June 2016 futures traded at 1065, near spot closing of 1062.90.
RInfra June 2016 futures traded at 544.65, near spot closing of 542.20. Tata Steel June 2016 futures traded at 326.80, near spot closing of 325.20. Axis Bank June 2016 futures traded at 532, near spot closing of 529.20.
The June 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 30 June 2016. The July 2016 F&O contracts are set to expire on 28 July 2016.
