Nikkei snaps 16 straight sessions winning streak

The Japan share market finished session down on Wednesday, 25 October 2017, snapping its longest winning streak that lasted for 16 straight sessions and in its nearly 70-year history, as investors locked in gains amid signs of temporary overheating in the market. The 225-issue Nikkei average dropped 97.55 points, or 0.45%, to end at 21,707.62. The TOPIX index of all first-section issues closed down 5.49 points, or 0.31%, at 1,751.43. Trading volume on the main section totaled 1,968.43 million shares, up from Tuesday's 1,571.56 million shares.
