Oil and Gas stocks edge higher
Oil and Gas stocks were trading in green, with the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index increasing 351.66 points or 3.27% at 11094.21 at 09:53 IST.
Among the components of the S&P BSE Oil&Gas index, GAIL (India) Ltd (up 10%), Petronet LNG Ltd (up 8.32%),Indraprastha Gas Ltd (up 4.99%),Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (up 2.39%),Castrol India Ltd (up 2.3%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were Indian Oil Corporation Ltd (up 2.17%), Oil & Natural Gas Corpn Ltd (up 2.12%), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 1.3%), Reliance Industries Ltd (up 1.04%), and Bharat Petroleum Corporation Ltd (up 0.91%).
At 09:53 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 552.46 or 1.84% at 30619.67.
The Nifty 50 index was up 158.95 points or 1.81% at 8951.15.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 299.15 points or 3.05% at 10096.36.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 113.12 points or 3.24% at 3602.54.
On BSE,1072 shares were trading in green, 283 were trading in red and 51 were unchanged.
