Power shares rise

Power stocks were trading with gains, with the S&P BSE Power index rising 6.96 points or 0.37% at 1891.99 at 09:47 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Power index, JSW Energy Ltd (up 2.83%), Siemens Ltd (up 1.2%),ABB India Ltd (up 1.06%),K E C International Ltd (up 1.04%),Torrent Power Ltd (up 0.98%), were the top gainers. Among the other gainers were NHPC Ltd (up 0.66%), Kalpataru Power Transmission Ltd (up 0.61%), NTPC Ltd (up 0.6%), Tata Power Company Ltd (up 0.26%), and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (up 0.1%).

On the other hand, Reliance Infrastructure Ltd (down 3.69%), Adani Transmission Ltd (down 1.35%), and Thermax Ltd (down 1.27%) moved lower.

 

At 09:47 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 30.4 or 0.08% at 37562.38.

The Nifty 50 index was up 9.85 points or 0.09% at 11136.25.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was down 13.26 points or 0.1% at 12699.76.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was down 10.56 points or 0.25% at 4291.73.

On BSE,662 shares were trading in green, 728 were trading in red and 78 were unchanged.
