Utilties shares slide

Utilties stocks were trading with losses, with the S&P BSE Utilities index falling 5.64 points or 0.31% at 1815.9 at 13:50 IST.

Among the components of the S&P BSE Utilities index, GAIL (India) Ltd (down 1.93%), Tata Power Company Ltd (down 1.24%),Orient Green Power Company Ltd (down 1.2%),NTPC Ltd (down 1.07%),Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd (down 0.96%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were Gujarat State Petronet Ltd (down 0.32%), and Mahanagar Gas Ltd (down 0.02%).

On the other hand, Rattanindia Power Ltd (up 9.7%), RattanIndia Infrastructure Ltd (up 9.57%), and Jaiprakash Power Ventures Ltd (up 8.88%) moved up.

 

At 13:50 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 94.49 or 0.25% at 37239.94.

The Nifty 50 index was up 22.05 points or 0.2% at 11025.1.

The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 156.64 points or 1.23% at 12866.6.

The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 27.59 points or 0.64% at 4306.98.

On BSE,1696 shares were trading in green, 673 were trading in red and 139 were unchanged.
