Quick Wrap: Nifty Auto Index gains 2.23%

Nifty Auto index ended up 2.23% at 7688.25 today. The index has gained 4.00% over last one month. Among the constituents, Eicher Motors Ltd rose 4.75%, Bosch Ltd jumped 3.80% and TVS Motor Company Ltd added 3.17%. The Nifty Auto index has fallen 15.00% over last one year compared to the 8.71% increase in benchmark Nifty 50 index. In other indices, Nifty Metal index gained 1.56% and Nifty PSE index increased 1.36% on the day. In broad markets, the Nifty 50 witnessed a rise of 0.77% to close at 11428.3 while the SENSEX increased 0.76% to close at 38506.09 today.
